It is talked about as being the ultimate 'revenge' on your enemies when all your physical attempts to get back at them fail. Karma goes a lot deeper than that though. Are you unknowingly accruing bad karmic debt? Here's a bit more about this liability and how to avoid it. Quotes About Karma: 'Everything comes back three-fold" "What goes around comes around" "If you're really a mean person you're going to come back as a fly and eat poop" (Oh Kurt Cobain, bless your soul) "If I'm a good person I'll be blessed with good things" This was originally going to be a one-off post about karma. It's such a huge topic with so many avenues to it that that turned out to be wishful thinking on my part! So instead I decided to break the posts down and focus this post on 'good' and 'bad' karmic debt...and how to avoid the bad karmic debt stuff. Most people perceive karma to be a give and get situation. The notion of karma has become twisted as sayings and proverbs around it have turned into modern day revenge quotes. When did karma become so messed up! The actuality of it is that karmic debt is acquired and released over many lifetimes. It doesn't just pertain to this lifetime alone. The quotes above have been misinterpreted and rewritten to make us feel better when shitty things happen to us or to reprimand ourselves when we do something even shittier. Who made it three fold anyway; why not get things back two-fold or six-fold? Karmic debt comes in many shapes and sizes. There's also what I'd call 'good' karmic debt and 'bad' karmic debt. Karma can range from a complete burden over many lifetimes to a blip on the radar. It is also something that the soul carries and has nothing to do with our emotional or physical being. Karma is about learning lessons so that our souls can advance to a higher level. (Trust me, all of our souls are trying to get to the finish line!) Sometimes our souls choose to take on karmic debt as a way of learning and growing. Now read that again carefully: our SOULS choose to take on karmic debt. This is what is deemed to be 'good' karmic debt. When we're waiting at the train station for the ride to our next life we decide then what karmic lessons to take on. (I've purposely written another post on this to explain the soul train situation in more detail. You can read it here to get a better understanding: http://thechannelling.weebly.com/blog/what-are-we-up-to-in-between-lives). These karmic lessons that our soul chooses to take on can be of an interesting choice. The reason our soul may choose to produce this debt is all to do with soul love. Choosing to be an A-hole in the next reincarnation may help another on their quest to advance their soul (See my post about Being the Victim of a Bad Relationship for a better understanding of this: http://thechannelling.weebly.com/blog/being-the-victim-of-a-bad-relationship ) If I do a reading for someone without them giving something back to the universe in return then I leave that person with karmic debt. In in the end that is my bad and I also get left with karmic debt. This is the reason why most readers will ask you to do a good deed if they are doing a reading for free. The universe needs its balance back. Karmic debt can carry on through many lives. So if you produce a karmic debt in this life it is most certainly going to come back and bite you in the bum in one of your next lives. If your soul doesn't plan on learning a lesson from it in this life or the next it's going to bite you in the bum very hard in the following life. The debt has to be paid eventually. Think of it this way: if you max out a credit card then don't pay the balance by the end of the month, the interest increases (by about 19%). That interest on the card will keep getting added every month, plus some, until you pay the balance. The end result of that unpaid-max-out credit card is a hideous debt that will leave you nearly bankrupt if you can't pay it back. The same goes for karma: The longer a karmic debt remains unpaid the more interest there is thrown on top until your soul is forced to take the pay-back karma in a horrible way. The end result of that is non-advancement of your soul. There's a lot of that happening nowadays too. So my explanation of karmic debt may leave you thinking "Yes! I can be really mean to someone for no reason." Fools tread where Angels fear to go. Don't do it. Earth's people are accruing too much debt and are paying back those debts at a very slow rate. Our souls are becoming stagnant and stuck. Lessons are being played over and over through many lifetimes as we aren't getting it right. Our soul population isn't advancing as quickly as it should. If we continue on that path then why wouldn't something like the 2008 recession happen but on a karmic level. A karmic recession to bring balance back. I can only imagine how hard hit we would be by something as drastic as that. So pick your battles. Don't expect karma to play out and avenge you in some insidious way. Learn from any 'bad' karmic debt that comes your way and then forgive it. Don't choose to mirror it back which in turn leads to 'bad' karmic debt. That is the best and most perfect thing you can do rather than waiting around for more bad stuff to happen.
