Do you know how to protect your energy field? It’s an important part of staying healthy and well. Here are my top tips for protecting your energy in your everyday life. There’s a constant movement of energy in the world. Our energy changes constantly as does the energy of others and a transfer of energy between people happens with every interaction that we have. This is why it is important to learn how to protect your energy field, particularly if you work in an environment where you are dealing with people who are physically, mentally or emotionally ill. Unwittingly, we tend to absorb or start to carry the energy of others if we don’t protect ourselves. It is as important as keeping yourself safe from contagious illnesses that others can pass on to us. If our energy fields aren’t protected it can lead to low moods, unhappiness and even physical illness. Protecting your energy field isn’t as hard as it sounds and can be done quite easily. The key is to remain consistent with it and practice protecting your energy field on a day-to-day basis. Doing so regularly can shield and stop you from picking up someone else energy even if they are particularly negative. So, here are my top tips: #1. Ask Your Guides & Angels Before you step outside your door in the morning ask your guides and angels to protect your energy field. This can be done with a simple prayer or even just directly asking them to wrap your energy field with a protective blanket. #2. Crystals Certain crystals can help create a forcefield around your energy field and offer protection throughout the day. Any black crystals are especially useful including Black Tourmaline and Black Obsidian. Crystals that ground our energy to the Earth can also help such as Smoky Quartz, Moss Agate and Hematite. Wearing one of these crystals on a necklace or bracelet is the easiest way to carry their protective qualities with you all day, otherwise keeping one of them in a tumbled form in your pocket during the day will work just as well. #3. Grounding This brings me to my third point about grounding. Grounding ourselves to the centre of the Earth and subsequently, our root chakra solidifies and anchors our energy field to the ground. This makes it extremely hard for negative energy to penetrate our energy field. Think of it like putting a stake in the ground: if it’s put in deep enough then it won’t even budge if you kick it, whereas if the stake is just put in the top of the soil you’ll be able to kick it down easily. The same goes for our energy field. Grounding your energy can be done by using grounding crystals as mentioned above, through meditation, by eating root vegetables daily or by simply getting out into nature every day. #4. Mirroring/ Deflecting Another practice that can help protect your energy field is using the mirroring or deflecting technique. For this to work, all you need to do is briefly visualise your energy field and place a reflective barrier around it. This could be a ‘mirror’ barrier or a glass barrier. Both work just as well as the other but one might be particularly suited to you. #5. Cleansing Keeping your energy field in pristine condition always helps to maintain its strength. Cleansing your energy field can be done using one of the four elements: fire, earth, air or water. For a fire-based cleanse smudging yourself works well. With earth getting out in the garden and/or placing your bare feet on the Earth. For an air-based energy cleanse, getting outside in the wind will cleanse your energy field and for a water cleanse a simple shower or bath will work. Likewise, you could also go for a walk in the rain. Protecting your energy field will be personal to you. For myself, I use all five methods and for cleansing, I shower or bathe at the end of every day (my moon in Pisces loves this method!). As mentioned, use these energy protection methods regularly and you’ll find yourself feeling (and looking) great every day as well as avoiding the burden of carrying or absorbing the energy of others.
