Night terrors can be truly alarming and distressing for parents. Waking up to your child screaming blue-murder pulls at your heart strings and causes loss of precious sleep for everyone in the house. Night terrors aren't as dramatic as the symptoms though and there should be little cause for concern. Night terrors are becoming quite common in this day and age. I hear many stories from upset parents about their child waking during the night screaming, inconsolable and trying to get out of a bedroom window or such. These children that have night terrors usually don't seem to remember anything and don't complain of any nightmares the next day. It is frightening to say the least, especially when they are frequent and unstoppable. As our souls are advancing in their evolution a higher percentage of our population are becoming more gifted. This is the reason why more families are experiencing night terrors and more regularly. Night terrors usually affect highly intuitive children. More often than not these children are reliving a past life. Apparently I had night terrors as a child and would be screaming at the top of my lungs while still in a deep sleep. There is a very good reason why these past lives play out and develop into night terrors though. Most of us have had many past lives. Quite often when we relive a past life, by either regressing or dreaming, we relive the life that had a major impact on what we are finding troubling at that moment in our current life. Reliving this particular past life helps our soul to learn, forgive and forget the pain. It's kind of like your soul is recapping on its past education. Since children are blessed with an innocent/ clean-slate mind their power to process these images and feelings is far beyond their scope of worldly intelligence. It's an adults-only domain. They may be reliving a traumatic experience or even their death from their past life. Just think, you wouldn't let your 4 year old watch Saw 3 in order to teach them to be wary of strangers. Imagine how badly it would disturb their pure way of thinking. You'd be hard-pressed to find a past life expert who would regress a child too. Nature does the work for us by producing night terrors. Night terrors occur while a child is in their deepest sleep phase (non-REM sleep). This is why they don't remember any of it. Nightmares occur during REM sleep and can often be remembered. The two are very different. Adults can experience both but usually just experience nightmares rather than night terrors. In the early years a child's soul is still filtering through information from the past and trying to put its best step forward in this new life. It is clearing the path for a (hopefully) long life in which it can learn many new lessons. To learn these new lessons it needs to make sure that any old ways or issues are cleared otherwise it can block the learning process in this life. Reliving past lives helps this process and when better to relive it all than sooner rather than later. So in come the night terrors in childhood. Night terrors are the least harmful way to filter though the information as a child. Highly intuitive children will usually do this because their souls are quite advanced and have practiced this during childhood previously in another life. And because they don't remember anything when they wake up they can go on their merry way with another problem solved. For example: Without knowing it, your child may be predisposed to self-harm in this life, once they get to their teenage years. A certain night terror they have as a child may pull up a past life in which they hated themselves or did horrible things to other people. So they relive that life through a night terror, learn from it and let it go therefore healing that anger that their new mind may have otherwise held onto. And the best part is they don't even remember it happening the next morning! It would be far too violent for them to view. This is also why night terrors don't continue throughout life- as most of the past life hurt is cleared early on. If it hasn't be cleared early on then we are able to process it easier as adults through dreams or regression. So if you are a parent who is having trouble dealing with night terrors, do not agonise over it. Just be sure to keep your child from banging too violently into a wall or from falling out of a window. Realise that it isn't doing them too much harm. In fact their night terrors are helping them in unmeasurable ways. Be supportive. Your child is very gifted and their soul has an innate talent that is helping them to grow into someone beautiful. I remember having a 'dream' when I was 18 or so, woke up absolutely terrified, this was 15 ish years ago and it still haunts me. I remember being in the top corner of my room looking down at my body about to return to it, then a shadowy hand reaching for it, and just the intensity of having to get back to the 'vessel' before the shadow did. ooo still gives me goose bumps!

That has happened to me too, but that is not a night terror, which I had for a year or so, at 7. Except for one night where I have a partial memory of babbling and screaming, I never recalled any of it but but my parents were terrified. They said it was nightly and I was screaming.

I have struggled with night terrors my entire life. I'm one of those lucky people who never grew out of it. I can't imagine having a child who suffers from it, that would just kill me. I have a 5 year old brother and I know it would kill me if he had night terrors. I would gladly suffer through them if that meant he didn't have to. It would be much harder to watch than to actually experience.

My daughter suffers from night terrors, she is 5 years old. I just had a reading today with Kimberly & we touched on it...my wee girl had a night terror this evening & I held her for 10 minutes before she came to & I could put her back in bed. This which is why I read her blog & then comments so late this evening. I had tears in my eyes so found it hard to read & type at times. They are so horrible but she never remembers them & I am just so grateful I have a special, gifted, empathetic little girl on my hands. I will bring her up with love love love
